Probiotic Remedies and Natural Health

When one considers natural and holistic wellness, it’s hard to ignore the many benefits offered by the ingestion of probiotic nutrients. Let’s take a closer look at some of the benefits probiotic ingestion can offer men and women of all ages, not just in the United States, but worldwide.

In Indonesia, the population is experiencing a real problem with the need for prenatal vitamins. Indonesia has a higher then normal mortality rate for newborns and birthing mothers. This mortality rate is directly affected by a lack of prenatal nutrition. In countries like Indonesia prenatal vitamins with probiotic principals are an aid in the reduction of malnutrition. If a woman is malnourished when she is pregnant, then harm to the unborn baby is more likely – to help combat this problem, physicians are now promoting the use of probiotic supplements in remote areas.
When a woman is healthy and nourished during pregnancy it allows for a better delivery, easier birth for the mother and better weight for the baby. If a pregnant woman is malnourished, then her blood doesn’t have the correct clotting ability. This leads to a higher mortality rate among both women and newborns. The use of supplements that work on the bio-chemical level ensures the correct ratio of nutrients in the system, thus aiding in proper clotting and proper nourishment in the body, assisting the natural process of childbirth. These principal factors are contributory for ALL pregnant women, both here and abroad.
Another problem that’s becoming evident in some of the remote areas of the world has to do with postpartum bleeding. Tearing during the birth process is normal, but if a woman’s system is starved for naturally occurring healing elements, then tearing of tissues is seriously compromising. While this may not seem relevant in the U.S., any mother who has experienced the postpartum healing process will agree that rapid healing is a definite desire. If a woman’s probiotic nutrient level is high, the mother’s body will allow for adequate healing. However, as evident in many of the remote parts of the world, malnourishment and a lack of probiotic bacteria in the healing process can increase instance of infection and death.
It’s safe to say that worldwide interest in probiotic health is increasing. And it’s also safe to say that scientific proof of probiotic benefit is now available. Whether you’re planning a pregnancy, you’re mid-pregnancy, or you’ve already started your family, probiotic health is important. Minimal research and a consult with your physician will provide you with some important insight into the implementation of a natural supplement routine. If it’s possible to combat many of the common problems that plague individuals in remote areas of the world through the simple ingestion of a probiotic supplement, why wouldn’t you choose to use it?

Natural Remedies

Even before medicine or modern science, natural remedies were being used to treat illnesses and symptoms. These natural remedies continue to carry weight even today, and many people feel very strongly that these remedies can be very helpful and curative. Here are just a few of the many natural remedies that exist for all different symptoms and sicknesses.

Constipation and other digestive issues can be problems that plague people for years with little or no relief from medications. And although there are many medicines that say they will cure constipation, gas, IBS and other gastrointestinal problems, few do more than mask the symptoms instead of healing the problem. There are many natural remedies for digestive problems. For example, plums have been known for years to be extremely healthful and healing to digestive problems. Instead of buying expensive supplements that include many ingredients, choose instead to eat a whole, unaltered plum. Other natural digestive remedies include apples, sunflower seeds, Epsom salts mixed with warm water, and a fiber-rich diet. These are just a few of the natural and holistic remedies for digestive issues, especially constipation.

Sometime during the year, almost all of us are struck with a cold or, if particularly unlucky, the flu. There are plenty of natural remedies for the cold and even influenza. For the cold, one recipe suggests a mix of lemon juice, honey and brandy. Another cold remedy suggests green onion soup or hot tea. For the flu, it is suggested that one should consider the soothing honey-lemon combination or a hot cinnamon tea.

For high blood pressure, something that many of us deal with, natural remedies that seem to work quite well include green tea, celery, white rice, blanched dill, and apple cider vinegar mixed with water.

The hiccups can be most annoying and quite embarrassing if you get them in a public place. And, for every annoying hiccup you feel, there is a corresponding natural remedy. Some suggested natural remedies include: eat ice cream or a teaspoon of sugar, drink water sprinkled with baking soda or squeezed lemon juice, and, of course, the most well known, hold your breath and count to ten.

No matter what the condition, there are natural remedies to help treat it. And just a quick search on the internet or in a book will lead you in the right direction.
